2005 Winners:

Aerophilatelic Hall of Fame
American Air Mail Society. To honor men and women who have contributed to the accumulation of aerophilatelic knowledge, have worked for a significant number of years to increase interest in the field, and have served successfully for a significant period in aerophilatelic organizations at the national or international level. The names of those honored are inscribed on the Aerophilatelic Hall of Fame plaque at the headquarters of the American Philatelic Society in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.

    Kuno Sollors (Germany)

      Kuno is known around the world as a distinguished aerophilatelist and leader of organized philately. He is the author of major aerophilatelic works on Labels of German Aviation Events and Zeppelin Labels. He has contributed as an editor of the American Air Mail Catalogue. He is the current president of FISA, the international federation of aerophilatelic societies. Since joining AAMS in the early 1960s, he has been instrumental in bringing six FISA Congresses to North America in conjunction with AAMS conventions. His special exhibit of aerophilatelic activities in North America has been exhibited world-wide. Kuno Sollors is honored for years of dedicated service to aerophilately.     Donald B. Holmes (France)

      Donald Holmes is recognized by all aerophilatelists for his passion and love of the hobby, dedicated research and work as an author. Donald is the author of Airmail-An Illustrated History, an overview of the development of airmail. He is now engaged in preparing a book about the activities of Wilbur Wright in France. He has written more than 30 articles for the Airpost Journal during his AAMS membership of 30-plus years. He has arranged to contribute his more than 50 years of research to the World Airmail Research Center in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. Donald B. Holmes is honored for his dedication to aerophilately and aeropostal history. (APJ).
