This is a card claimed to have been prepared by the dealer Hennig for the scheduled September 24, 1939 Karlsruhe Flight of the LZ 130. It is listed as such in at least one other zeppelin catalog, but its legitimacy as intended zeppelin mail is very much open to question.
The card was posted from Danzig on September 19, 1939, well after the scheduled September zeppelin flights had been cancelled. There is no indication that the card traveled to Railway Post Office 19 in Frankfurt for the Karlsruhe zeppelin flight, or any other zeppelin flight for that matter. Hennig applied a rubber stamped Graf Zeppelin routing instruction on the front of the card and a private cachet on the back indicating that the flight had been cancelled due to the outbreak of war, but the editor regards these markings as gratuitous. In the editor's view, the card, although possibly dating to the relevant period, is a fantasy item insofar as any intended zeppelin transit was concerned.
