This card was posted on board during the return leg of the America Flight. It was mistakenly marked with the German Around-The-World Flight cachet. It should have been marked with the blue America Flight cachet, since from the German perspective, this was the return leg of the America Flight.
The 7 Marks of postage were correct for a card traveling on this leg (2 RM) and the first three legs of the Around-The-World Flight (5 RM) (Friedrichshafen-Tokyo; Tokyo - Los Angeles; Los Angeles - Lakehurst).
