As the Graf Zeppelin approached Berlin on August 15th, a number of postcards were tossed from the airship over the Charlottenburg neighborhood. This card was the mail of Graf Zeppelin Chief Steward Heinrich Kubis. The person who found it took it to a Charlottenburg post office, where it was canceled the same day. Wild drop mail was typically franked with postage at ordinary surface or air mail rates.
