Luxemburg did not have a postal agreement with the zeppelin company, thus its mail required German stamps in addition to the Luxemburg franking, with paid for transit from Luxemburg to Friedrichshafen. There were three varieties of Luxemburg mail flown on the Iceland Flight. This example received a Friedrichshafen airpost cancel. The other varieties received either an on board cancel (type b) or a German railway cancel (type c).
