Notes
For each of the nine South America Flights of the Graf Zeppelin in 1932, postal regulations allowed senders to dispatch their mail either to Berlin or to Friedrichshafen. For dispatches that originated from or traveled through Berlin, Deutsche Lufthansa operated a special connecting flight ("anschlussflug") to Friedrichshafen. A unique red flight cachet was applied to such mail, and there was a unique connecting flight cachet for each of the nine zeppelin flights.
