Notes
The Hindenburg rate was 40¢ to Europe, 3¢ additional for airmail within the United States, and 3¢ additional for airmail within Europe. Mail received the special purple rubber stamp flight cachet and one of the three Friedrichshafen receiving cancels. 842 kilograms of mail were aboard. Three different receiving cancels were used in Friedrichshafen: with zeppelin depicted below the date, with zeppelin depicted above the date, and a machine cancel with zeppelin at left.
Collectors and dealers sometimes added private cachets, such as the two at left on this example.
