Collectors and dealers could prepare mail with German postage in advance and request the onboard postmark for a day during the flight. For some flights, these were canceled in advance at the Frankfurt 19 railway post office and then placed aboard. More difficult to find are onboard postmarks on mail posted aboard the zeppelin by passengers or crew members.
