Notes
U.S. Navy airship officer Charles E. Rosenthal posted this card to Harold L. Ickes, U.S. Secretary of the Interior under President Franklin D. Roosevelt, with the message "Up in the air for once." Rosendahl retired as a Vice Admiral. He survived the Shenandoah disaster, was a commander of Los Angeles, and was Commander of Lakehurst Naval Air Station when Hindenburg burst into flames. He flew on both Graf Zeppelin and Hindenburg.
