Notes
Hindenburg flew two flights over Rhein-Main airport on the evening of its dedication. Ernst Lehmann commanded both flights: the first for 1 hour, 26 minutes, and the second for 1 hour. Each flight had 46 crew members. The first flight had 70 passengers and the second had 90 passengers. It is difficult to distinguish whether the mail from passengers and crew members were on the first or second flight unless the writer included clues in the message. Because this writer mentions the time of 7 pm, he was on the first flight from 6:21 pm to 7:47 pm. Frankfurt post office prepared mail was only on the first flight.
