Notes
On April 27 Hindenburg made two flights with experimental airplane landings to a trapeze hung below the bow. Pilot Ernst Udet made 4 hook-ons on the first flight of 6 hours, 59 minutes and 2 hook-ons during the second flight of 2 hours, 23 minutes. Both flights carried 2 kg of mail plus mail posted onboard by passengers and crew members. Max Pruss commanded both flights: both with 60 crew, the first with 90 passengers, and the second with 21 passengers. Unless the passenger or crew member identified the flight number or time on the onboard mail, it is impossible to determine which flight carried mail such as this one illustrated. This card was sent by Bruno Messer, the godson of Hugo Eckener, and sent to a relative.
