Notes
Registered Macau dispatch forwarded for Hindenburg by Clipper airplane across the Pacific Ocean and then across the USA by plane to New York City. After the Hindenburg disaster, a NYC registry postal clerk added a red manuscript explanation “no Lakehurst service, forward by boat.” The rate was 3.05 pataca + 40₵ zeppelin + 6₵ air + 15₵ reg = 3₵ overpaid. Mail from several countries would have been returned after receipt in New York City and different postal offices used different methods of explaining the change of service.
