Notes
After Hindenburg burst into flames, which destroyed about 17,000 pieces of mail, the U.S. zeppelin representative's office sent a letter to its zeppelin mail subscribers notifying them that their mail was lost. Max Zabel, the Hindenburg postmaster who survived the disaster, signed the letters. The number of subscribers is unknown but can be guessed to be in the hundreds. If the envelope that mailed this letter is included, the value is higher.
