A landing flight to Konigsberg had been planned for August 26th, but due to the impending conflict with Poland, the Air Ministry in Berlin ordered the flight cancelled. Mail for the flight had been postmarked with a red Konigsberg flight cachet and cancelled at Rhein-Main with an August 26th circular date stamp in the usual form.
The unflown mail was dispatched to its addressees, stamped with a three line inscription in red stating that "On account of the cancellation of this flight, mail will be forwarded by ordinary means."
